Pass the Butler by Eric Idle

Pictured left are Duncan Mitchell and Renee Campbell

The November 2007 Production was Pass the Butler a play written by that irreverent member of Monty Python  <nudge, nudge, wink wink>  Eric Idle.

Pass the Butler was directed by Peter Deane (your present scribe).  For an image of myself  click here, perhaps.

A night at this play is not to be forgotten and not to be missed.  It is not often performed in Australia, so don't miss the opportunity this time around!

Our first cast meeting was on Sunday 29 July at 2pm in the Green Room.  At this meeting, rehearsal and performance dates were decided.  At the September meeting the dates were revised.

Hall Setup - weekends October 20-21, October 27-28 & November 3-4.  We should only need the first weekend to build the set, and the next two we can make minor adjustments and modifications.  We will have the luxury of nearly three weeks of rehearsals on the actual set.

The performance dates are:

Blog

I am writing a blog as rehearsals progress.  It will be good to look back on in many years' time.  to see the production blog, click here.

Auditions

We held auditions on Tuesday June 26, Thursday June 28 and Thursday June 12.  There were twelve auditionees for nine roles.  I was lucky in that I only had to disappoint three people - to whom I offer my sincere thanks for lending me their support.  The cast has been announced and can be read by clicking here or using the button on the left.

Auditions were open public auditions, using elements of the play dictated by the presence of potential cast members.  There were two private auditions held because these people could not make it in on the audition dates.  These two private auditionees were actually successful in obtaining roles, incidentally.

Resources for Auditionees & Producers

These handouts were distributed at the auditions.  I can also lend you a copy of the script, should you so desire.  Give me a call on the above number(s).
