Ladies in Retirement by E Percy & R Denham
This was produced by Nancy Hunt who was a local Wyong resident, but had trained at the Independent Theatre in Sydney as an actress. Although she had considerable experience as an actor, she was a novice director at the time. This play was the entry in the 1956 Country Play Competition (sponsored by NSW division of the Arts Council). The adjudicator this year was Doris Fitton, OBE. It's interesting to note that this programme refers to the group exclusively as "The Wyong Drama Group", and from here on, the "Wyong Dramatic Group" moniker has been completely phased out.
