Home Fires Burning
This was one of the last plays to be directed by
Bonnie Bryant, and it was brilliant. It won no
less than five awards: Best
Actor (for Laszlo Weidlich); Best Direction (for Bonnie); Best Ensemble
Performance; Best Set and Best Unpublished Play. Bonnie
had presented the play before in April 1983,
July 1990, and
August 1993.
As a tribute to Bonnie we present a video of the entire production online.
The file is approximately 17 megabytes long and goes for 46-1/2 minutes.
This was part of the Deckchairs series of One-Act plays
about English people visiting the beach. It was directed by Millie
Sampson, and was a two-hander with Denise Pastor and Pam Campbell. Helen
Schumann, Wendy Potter and Barry Sampson were the backstage crew.
