Information on EOIs for Directing In WDG's 2026 Season

Director’s Expression of Interest to Direct

 

 

EOIs should include as much detailed information as possible on the topics below to allow the Committee to make an informed decision on potential directors. You may include additional information outside these areas.

EOIs should be emailed to: secretary@wyongdramagroup.com.au

• Name of the play and playwright

• Brief summary of the play

• What draws you to the play

• Characters/Casting

• Production Concepts: e.g. open staging, set in modern era, other broad ideas that assist the Committee to understand your vision.

• The Set

• Props and furnishings

• Lighting concepts

• Sound

• Costumes

• Creative Team and Crew (as available at the time of submitting):

  • Ideally Directors should source their own creatives and crew where possible. If you need to fill specific roles the Committee may be able to assist with some contacts. WDG is keen to encourage new creatives and crew so consider people outside WDG.

• Budget Approximations for:

Sets

Costumes (e.g. need to hire?)

Props (other than those available through WDG sources)

• Other

  • Any difficulties you foresee in directing the piece.
